Davis Joins Community Members in Wreath Laying Tradition

Council Member Davis joined many volunteers who safely gathered in limited group numbers throughout the day at Tracy Public Cemetery to honor Veterans laid to rest there. On December 19, 2020, volunteers placed a Remembrance Wreath upon the grave of each Veteran buried in the cemetery. 2,281 Veterans were honored with wreaths through the combined efforts of organizer, Julia Conover, a Gold Star Mom, Jenese Borges of Gone But Not Forgotten and Wreaths Across America Tracy. Davis has attended the event for several years stating, "Each time that an opportunity presents itself to honor those who have served our great nation, I always feel blessed. As I state the names of the men and women who have served and place a Wreath of Remembrance upon their graves, not only am I grateful for being a part of this time honored tradition within our community, I'm grateful for the freedom that allows us to continue the traditions we cherish most." In a Facebook post, Davis expressed her gratitude for all who participated in the event.

"Thank you to organizer, Julia Conover, all of the American Gold Star Moms, and the many, many volunteers who came out to pay their respects and remember those who have served. God bless you. God bless Tracy. God bless the United States of America." #RemembranceWreaths #WreathsAcrossAmerica #LoveTracy
